First Commencement and Bachelor’s Degrees Conferred

At its first ever commencement in June, 1923, 28 candidates received their Bachelor’s in Education

Above, 1923 Commencement ceremony, where students receive the first conferred degrees of the Southern Branch of the University. Two years later, in June 1925, the first Bachelor’s of Arts Degrees in Letters and Science would be awarded awarded to 100 women and 24 men.
